Fry Club Colts v Bradley Stoke 17/09/06

 

Match played at Bradley Stoke

 

‘A’ Team – We lined up with the following players, Brandon in goal, Ryan and Jacob in defence, Owen (OJ), Harry Clarke, & George in midfield and Dan Wetmore (Birdman) up front. The subs were Eli and Dan Bowden. After some bright and general good play by us, we just couldn’t score, on 15 minutes The Birdman marked his ‘A’ team debut with a goal 1-0. On 18 minutes we scored again with Dan Bowden scoring into the roof of the net, half time 2-0. Second half we kept the pressure on with a good display in midfield but we couldn’t score a third goal. Game ended 2-0 win to us.

 

Man of the match was Owen Skinner (OJ) who showed some great strength on the ball and delivered some great corners.

 

‘B’ Team – We lined up with Ellis in goal, Rhys and Josh in defence, Dan Payne (Kaka), Charlie and Matthew in midfield and Callum Jones up front with Dan Ferris (Rooney) and Harry Scott on the bench. We started well once again and after 5 minutes Dan Payne (Kaka) was brought down for a free kick. Matthew took the free kick and scores into the roof of the net to make it 1-0. Bradley Stoke came back at us and hit the post. We carried on pushing forward to find the second goal, Callum goes close from an acute angle, after 15 minutes Bradley Stoke make it 1-1. They are on the attack now but Ellis saves well. 1-1 at half time. Second half we started well and defensive mistake allows Matthew to make it 2-1 to us. Good save again by Ellis, from their free kick. Bradley Stoke draw level with a good goal of their own 2-2, in 22nd minute of the second half (injury time but no injury occurred) Bradley Stoke score again 3-2, a good display from the boys though.

 

Man of the match was Ellis Jones who performed really well in goal and made some great saves.

 

 

I would like to thank Gavin Ellington who has been a great assistant to me for the past eighteen months, in which he sorted out the fixtures which I’m grateful for. I would also like to take this opportunity to wish Lewis (The Duke) Ellington all the best for the future.
